    The winner of the local American Legion Oratorical contest was Warsaw High School senior Laura Engle. She received a $500 scholarship from the local American Legion Post 49, and will represent WCHS in further competition.

    With 14 years of experience, Thomas Gilbert is the Syracuse Fire Department's veteran radio dispatcher. Gilbert answers phones and operates base stations for both the firemen and police in Syracuse.

    Milford teachers and their guests gave a party honoring the outgoing trustee, Vern Wysong, who has served eight years, and the incoming trustee, John Augsburger. The party was held at the home of Harold Young, principal of Milford School.

Dec. 16 1921

    According to widely circulated rumors afloat in Warsaw Friday and Saturday, a truck load of "bonded" whiskey passed through the city this week, south bound. It is not known whether or not the men in charge of the "cargo" got rid of any of it in this city, but it is understood that they offered to dispose of some of the shipment at $100 a case.
