    The Kosciusko County Sheriff's department has hired former Mentone marshal John Hart, 32, as a county deputy. Hart fills a vacancy left by the retirement of Richard Monk, a 13-year veteran of the sheriff's department. Sheriff Ron Robinson said Hart was officially hired Dec. 1 and would begin road work next week.

Dec. 16 1972

    Miss Char Mason, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Mason, Bourbon, was crowned Triton High School Homecoming Queen Saturday night during halftime ceremonies at the Triton-Culver basketball game. Miss Mason is a senior, winner of the Junior Miss Scholastic achievement award, Prep Club president and a member of the Art Club, FFT and Gamma Beta Chi.

    When the doors of the new Litchfield Creamery are opened to the public Saturday morning in East Warsaw, every citizen, young and old, will be given an opportunity to see a marvel of the machine age. It's an industrial fairy land, where milk in huge quantities is poured into the receiving room and emerges at the other end, finished milk products of butter, evaporated milk, Milnot and byproducts, without ever being touched by human hands.

    Charles Heintzelman, late of Larwill, has leased the business room vacated by the Strayer general store, Claypool, and has made many improvements in establishing a first-class barber shop. A public bathtub, something that has heretofore been unknown in Claypool, has been added.
