    Women's Club Championships were awarded at Rozella Ford Golf Club.

In the Championship Flight, Lynn Caraway won the low gross honors and captured the title, while Pat Nelson, who tied for second place in low net action, won the Babe Zaharias Flight. Clara Parker, first in low net action, won the Louise Suggs Flight.

    FORT RUCKER, Ala. - Lawrence E. Murphy, son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard E. Murphy, Mentone, recently was promoted to Army major while serving as an airfield and airspace branch chief with the 1st Aviation Brigade at Fort Rucker, Ala.

    Beverly Witham, 18-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Witham, of Mentone, will enter Gale Institute at Minneapolis, Minn., Aug. 9, where she will begin study in airline communications.

    Noah Puntenney, 219 S. Scott St., 86 years old, while fishing on Pike Lake Thursday afternoon, landed a pike weighing four pounds and 10 ounces. Puntenney is an enthusiastic fisherman and seldom returns from a piscatorial expedition without some nice specimens of the finny tribe hanging from the stringer.
