    Jake Tusing, Leesburg, gained an addition to his stock Tuesday as a calf was born at the Kosciusko County Fair. Tusing went out and got some balloons to let everyone know the new arrival was a girl.

    Debra M. Horrick, 738 N. Lake St., Warsaw, is one of 114 students accepted to study in the Purdue University Pharmacy School this fall.

A 1975 graduate of Warsaw Community High School, Horrick attended Purdue last year as a freshman and as one of 360 students in the pre-pharmacy program. She is the daughter of Mrs. Hildegard Waschkies.

    Betty Bray, 17, Milford, was among the seven finalists in the "Miss Indiana" contest. Betty recently was chosen "Queen of the Lakes" at North Webster Mermaid Festival, and was sponsored in the state contest by the Warsaw Junior Chamber of Commerce.

Bray, a slender brunette, placed sixth.

    Charles Butler Jr., who has been attending Woodcraft School at the Culver Military Academy, is one of the 15 boys who left for a week's trip to the Sand Dunes. Butler has completed three years training and is one of the gold "C" men for the class.
