    Astronaut Jim Irwin, who walked on the moon when he was on the crew of Apollo 15, was in Warsaw. He signed autographs for patrons of Breading's. Irwin was in Warsaw to visit Gerald Twombly. Irwin is the founder of High Flight Foundation, an interdenominational Christian outreach organization.

    A freshly roasted pig was a highlight of a potluck dinner for 113 members and friends of the W.T. Anglin family July 22 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dallas Anglin at Clunette.

Surrounded by her family, Mrs. Grace M. Anglin, Clunette, who will be 91 years old in September, was photographed in the afternoon.

August 7 1948

    Arnold Beckman, Syracuse composer, has entered the worldwide song contest which the army is sponsoring to see if it can get a distinctive tune for its men to whistle and sing. Beckman, member of the marching band of the 86th Blackhawk Division, won honors in a national composition clinic with his song, "It's America For Me."

    Fifty years of wedded life were appropriately celebrated today by Mr. and Mrs. Jefferson Plummer of Leesburg, who celebrated their golden wedding at the home of their only daughter, Mrs. George Thomas, Leesburg. Both are in excellent health.
