    Alice Karesh, Syracuse, won $10,000 Saturday on the "Hoosier Millionaire" television broadcast. Her total was the third highest of the contestants.

    It's getting to be a habit for Tricia Ayers. For the third consecutive year her steer earned Grand Champion honors in 4-H beef judging at the Kosciusko County Fair, setting the stage for the big 4-H livestock auction.

Tricia, 13-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Terry Ayers, Claypool, was given top prize by judges for her 1,170-pound black Crossbred steer. It is the first time in recent history that a 4-H'er has taken first place three years running.

    Janet Walter, of this city, has added another "first" to her outstanding record as a baton twirler. She appeared at the 12th annual International Friendship Gardens music festival Sunday at Michigan City and was awarded the crown in the baton twirling group as the winner in the senior girls' division. Walter is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T.R. Walter, North Maple Avenue.

    Dale Edward Gerster, Warsaw's 13-year-old saxophone artist, will broadcast from WOWO at Fort Wayne again Friday at 3 p.m. standard time. The numbers on his program will be "The Spirit of Joy," valse caprice by Clay Smith, and "Melody in F" by Rubinstein. He will be accompanied on the piano by his teacher, Oscar M. Baker of the Serwood Music School branch.
