WRSW and news director Roger Grossman were recently honored for radio news coverage. Network Indiana credited WRSW for providing the story of the month for June for its coverage of the local foundry explosion.
Top prize winners in the horse show and contest at the fair were, Danny Lambert, North Manchester, who won the pole bending and barrel race contests and was all-around contest champion; Teresa Groninger, Warsaw, top showman in English Equitation and Cindy Perry, Pierceton, top driver.
Philip Lee Morphew, 7-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. David Morphew, of Winona Lake, won one of the third place prizes in the Roy Roger's pony naming contest, sponsored by the Post cereal company. Philip's prize was a Roy Roger's bunk house, a wood frame structure, covered with awning painted like a bunk-house. Philip named the pony Wheedles.
A.R. Borden, formerly with The New York Globe, passed through Warsaw this morning while en route on a hiking trip from San Francisco to New York.
