    Deb Mangas of ABC Travel Specialists recently accepted the Amtrak 1987 Golden Spike Society Award for the agency's outstanding rail sales record.

The 1987 Golden Spike Award is given to those travel agencies who have produced Amtrak revenues of at least $65,000 during the year.

    Remember the good old days when you could count on the bad guys to do dastardly deeds ... like robbing a bank or kidnapping a damsel fair?

Even Warsaw isn't exempt from the new look in crime. A theft was reported to city police yesterday by Charles Pittenger, of 704 W. Center St. Someone robbed his garden, due to grocery prices spiraling like a geyser at Yellowstone National Park.

    Tromping Bob, ridden by Mrs. John Cook, and Fred Allen, ridden by Mrs. Earl McCoy, both of Warsaw, placed second and third, respectively, in the walking-horse class of the Indiana State horse show, held Saturday and Sunday at Columbia City.

    Formal opening of the beautiful new Studebaker Garage building here north of the courthouse will take place Saturday when the place will be thrown open to the public with appropriate entertainment and souvenirs. All new 1924 model Studebaker cars have been placed in the elegant auto show room. One new model, the Special-Six touring car, with Packard line hood and other late improvements is attracting great attention.
