    Just hours before the Philippine Islands were shook by a massive earthquake Lisa (Lemon) Chudy and her husband, Jeffery, were evacuated from the area. The couple were on the island representing Indiana University as directors of Campus For Christ. Lisa is the daughter of Jo and Tom Lemon, Warsaw.

August 5 1975

    Ann Kaiser, 1974 Kosciusko County 4-H Queen, placed a glittering crown on the head of her successor, Sue Lozier, of Warsaw, during ceremonies at the 4-H Fashion Revue. Bruce Bryant, of Pierceton, was named 1975 Kosciusko County 4-H King, succeeding Ralph Reiff. The 4-H royalty is selected on the basis of service and points awarded for participation in 4-H projects.

August 5 1950

    Barbara Thompson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Thompson, of Rt. 1, Warsaw, will take part in state 4-H clothing judging contest at the fairgrounds, Indianapolis, having won top county honors and captured second place in district competition. In the latter contest, Barbara scored 549 out of a possible 600 points.

August 5 1925

    Donald R. Beebe, 311 S. Columbia St., Warsaw, was awarded a silver medal for his athletic accomplishments in the citizens' military training camp, at the final ceremonies.

Beebe also won a bronze medal for being the best basic student in Company D.
