    Ask David Plummer of Warsaw to give you his tip 10 reasons for being excited about the fall of 1995, and the list probably would be made in seconds.

Plummer, 19, a 1994 graduate of Warsaw Community High School and the son of Ray and Dianne Plummer of Warsaw, was selected from more than 600 applicants to be an intern for "The Late Show," hosted by David Letterman.

August 4 1980

    The Kiwanis Distinguished Club President's Award award was presented to Rex Wildman, immediate past president of the Warsaw Kiwanis Club. Sherm Bryant, past Lt. Gov., Land Of Lakes division, presented the award on behalf of Kiwanis International, Indiana District. During Wildman's tenure in office, a new Kiwanis Club was established in Bourbon, fulfilling part of the criteria for the award.

August 4 1955

    Tonight doors will swing open on Warsaw's latest moving picture house, the new $175,000 Boice Theatre, in the former Centennial Theatre building in the 100 block of East Center Street.

Opening of the theater climaxed for Ralph Boice, its founder and owner, some 49 years in the moving picture business, and simultaneously marks the celebration of three generations from one family to enter this field.

75 Years Ago

August 4 1930

    Delegates to the state convention of the American Legion, to be held in Fort Wayne, were elected by the John C. Peterson Post and plans for the part the local post is to play in the meeting made.

The delegates representing the local post will be Homer McDaniels, Arden Poor, Hurless Nine and Robert Bushee and Charles Wagner, Pete Carroll, R. Cochran and Gilbert Bates, alternates.
