    Winners in the Warsaw City Parks & Recreation fishing contest were recently announced. They are: Peter Trolinger, 14, Warsaw, winner in the 11-15 age division for both shortest and longest fish; Star Watkins, 3, Bourbon, and Annie Woodward, 8, North Webster, tied in the 10-and-under age division for shortest fish (4-1/2 inches); and Andy Long, 10, Warsaw, winner of the 10-and-under age division for longest fish (11-1/2 inches).

    The Grasshoppers, winners of the Warsaw Girls Softball League, are Tammy Hemmer, Chris Brown, Lorie Powers, Becky Lindzy, Jenny Davis, Susan Kindig, Shelly Ladd, Lisa Konkle, Nancy Rasor, Michele Byers, Tammie Anglin, Lisa Brown and Claudia Kreicker. Coaches are Dan Tenney and Bill Powers.

    The windows and doors are in at Breading's and the whiting on the glass has peep holes for the engineers at eye level and others at about knee level "for dogs."

    A million or more gladiolus plants waving in the sun and just getting into readiness for full bloom is a sight that greets the passersby at the Jacob Walters farm, five miles south of North Manchester.
