Trent A Markovitz, son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald J. Markovitz, Warsaw, has been accepted in I.U.-Purdue's School of Engineering, Fort Wayne extension, and will be attending classes this fall semester.
Mr. and Mrs. Duane Gable and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hart of this city, spent the weekend at St. Paris, Ohio, attending a reunion held by Battery B of the 264th coastal artillery. During World War II, Mr. Gable and Mr. Hart were members of the group which was stationed at Dutch Harbor, Alaska.
While looking through old records on file in the office of the county clerk, Hermon Bodkin, abstractor for Attorney J.H. Brubaker, found recorded a petition filed by the administration of the Jacob Stevens estate, asking the court for permission to erect a cabin of hewed logs at a cost of $65. The petition was filed in the year 1855.
