    Shawn Krull and Dawn Burch were crowned the 4-H royal couple at Kosciusko County's 75th annual fair.

Krull, 18, is the son of Hubert and Beth Krull, Milford, and Burch, 19, is the daughter of Dennis and Linda Burch, Mentone.

    Jane Fawley received the honor and crown of recognition as "Miss Beef Queen" of Kosciusko County. Denise Darr is the "Beef Princess." Fawley will compete at the Indiana State Fair under the sponsorship of the Kosciusko County Cowbelles, an auxiliary of the Indiana Beef Cattle Association.

August 3 1951

    A fire at the Warsaw Chemical company plant on Durbin St., near Argonne Road, resulted in damages estimated at $12,000 to $14,000. The east building of the plant was damaged to the extent of $6,000, and the rest of the loss includes office furniture, equipment and raw materials stored in the structure.

August 3 1926

    On Aug. 2, Earl Himes, North Webster, completed six years of Sunday school attendance without a miss, a total of 313 consecutive Sundays at the same church. On 228 of the above number Himes drove 5-3/4 miles each way to attend Sunday school, 100 of these trips being made with horse and buggy. According to state records, this number is among the highest, and considered from the distance standpoint has no equal in the state.
