August 28 1994

    MADISON - Ingrid Goble, a 1994 graduate of Whitko High School, is now playing volleyball at Hanover College in Madison.

Goble received several awards in her senior season as a Lady Wildcat, including Whitley County Player of the Year, Three Rivers Conference first team selection and Academic All-State honorable mention. She is the daughter of Marv and Jane Goble of South Whitley.

    Kris Golden of Syracuse successfully defended her girls' national trick water skiing championship last weekend at the National Tournament in DuQuoin, Ill.

Golden, 16, has now won the girls' (13-16) title two straight years. She finished fourth in the girls' overall competition, which is combined score in trick, slalom and jump skiing.

August 28 1954

    Prize winners at the recent women's guest day golf tournament at the Tippecanoe Country Club course were announced.

The low gross score over 18 holes was posted by M. Davidson, with a 91, while Alice Proctor had the low net score of 67. B. Dalton had a low gross of 56 over the nine-hole route for top honors. Dorothy Todd won the prize for the low number of putts.

    Edgar Henderson, living southeast of Warsaw, has produced his first litter of pork, weighing 2,160 pounds in six months. There were nine pigs in the litter. They were self-fed during the entire period. He will receive a gold medal from Purdue as a prize for the work.
