    The 1990 Kosciusko County cutie queen and king named during the 4-H fair were Christopher Armey, 4-year-old son of Dan and Lorie Armey, Warsaw, and Jennifer Slone, 4-year-old daughter of Buck Slone and Shelia Hurd, Warsaw.

August 26 1975

    Kathy Anderson had three hits and drove in three runs while Linda Calobrace pitched shutout ball as Donnelley II defeated L.M. Berry's 9-0 in Monday night women's softball action. Fay Iden, Karen Denny and Phyllis Bushman each contributed two hits to the winning effort.

August 26 1950

    Warsaw hummed with activity today as banner crowds sought the Dollar Days bargains offered by local merchants. Roger Dunn, secretary of the Chamber of Commerce, said he thought the crowds were exceptionally large this year. There were people lined up at most counters and some stores were jammed with customers.


75 Years Ago
August 26 1925

    The Union Chapel and Crystal Lake concrete road, extending west of Warsaw, is now completed and will be open for traffic Aug. 29. This road was built by the W.J. Nees Co., of Mishawaka, with Stanley Boggs as engineer of the Union Chapel Road and Donald Lessig engineer for the Crystal Lake Road.
