Biomet Inc., Warsaw, has made a donation to the new City-County Athletic Complex in Warsaw. Dane A. Miller, Ph.D., president and chief executive officer of Biomet Inc., said, "We are proud to announce that Biomet has donated $50,000 to the City-County Athletic Complex."
Noah Adams, Claypool, the area's premiere horseshoe player, recently concluded another successful season by capturing the title at the Manchester Horseshoes Throwing Tourney. Adams, who has been competing for more than 30 years, captured three of four matches to win.
A large crowd gathered Saturday afternoon to see the last concrete poured which connected the south section of Road 13 with the north section. After a week's hardening and the finishing of the railroad crossing there will be no more rough, lengthy detours.
A stalk of corn 4 feet in height and bearing one ear of corn 2 inches in diameter and more than 4 inches long, has been discovered by E.A. Arnold, county commissioner, who resides near Claypool, growing in the trunk of a plum tree on his farm. The grain of corn had become deposited where a limb broke off early last spring.
