    Stephanie Brumbaugh recently won the district competition of the Optimist International Communication Contest for the Hearing Impaired in South Bend.

She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jan Brumbaugh.

    Georgia Sumpter, of 830 N. Lake St., Warsaw, was given the keys to a 1975 Oldsmobile Cutlass Courier from Bruce Petro, the owner of Bruce Petro Olds-Cadillac Inc., Warsaw. Sumpter won the car in a promotion at the Kosciusko County Fair.

August 25 1955

    E.F. (Swede) Rydquist, a veteran Warsaw fireman, was elected president of the Kosciusko County Volunteer Firemen's association during a meeting at North Webster.

Lawrence Firestone, of Syracuse, was elected vice-president, Neil Bennett, of Warsaw, secretary, and Art Wise, of Burket, treasurer.

August 25 1930

    Officers were elected at the closing business session of the Eel River Christian Church conference at Winona Lake as follows:

President, John Sees, Huntington; vice-president, Judge O.W. Whitelock, Huntington; secretary, Carl Thompson, South Whitley; assistant secretary, Samuel Frantz, North Manchester; and treasurer, J.M. Barnes, Huntington.
