    ROCHESTER - Heidi Fugate turned in a record-setting performance to lead the Tippecanoe Valley girls' golf team to a 419-432 victory over Northwestern (Kokomo) HIgh School Tuesday.

Fugate fired a new school record round of 89 during the 18-hole match at the Mill Creek Golf Course in Rochester.

    Brooks Dalton and Jerry Nelson teamed up to edge Randy and Norm Denney, 2-1 to win the final match of the Tony Lema Memorial match play tournament for the second year in a row at the Rozella Ford Golf Club Sunday.

The 36 hole finale was nip and tuck all the way with neither team able to build more than a three shot advantage. The Denny's won the first three holes at the beginning of both 18s. but couldn't hang on.

    Mrs. Howard Hines, Warsaw, was elected first vice-president of the auxiliary to the Indiana State Firemen's Association at the state convention held this week at Gary by the IFA and the auxiliary.

Others from Warsaw attending were Mrs. Sam Lowman and Mrs. Jennie Bennett, past presidents of the state auxiliary, and Mrs. Robert Hodges, the delegate from the Warsaw auxiliary.

    Walter M. Hall, North Webster, member of the 1925 championship Indiana University baseball team, had the highest scholastic average of any athlete in the Hoosier school during the spring semester.

Hall had a total of 54 credit points, the equivalent of 18 hours of straight work. The average number of credit hours in 15. Hall has the distinction of being Kosciusko County's youngest World War soldier.
