    Biomet chief executive office Dane Miller shot a hole-in-one recently at Stonehenge Golf Club's championship course.

Miller aced the 130-yard par-3 No. 7 hole with an 8-iron. The shot was witnessed by Jerry Ferguson.

August 24 1979

    Danita Mayhew of the Kosciusko Community YMCA Sharks won first place in the 50 meter breaststroke at the Blueberry Festival Swim Meet in Plymouth last weekend.

Mayhew, competing in the 9-10 age group, was the only individual winner for the Sharks, but the 9-10 medley and freestyle relay team, consisting of Mayhew, Cathy Fink, Cindy Cummins and Lisa Keough, won both of its events.

50 Years Ago

August 24 1954

    R.D. LaGarde and Don Chilcote, both of Warsaw, returned recently from a five-day tour of a large bridge and lumber company's facilities in Wyoming and Colorado. They were two of 67 men from 54 Indiana county Farm Bureau Co-ops to make the trip, sponsored by the building, steel and coal department of the Indiana Farm Bureau Co-op. Enroute home the group attended the Frontier Days Rodeo at Cheyenne, Wyo.

August 24 1929

    R.G. Rutter presented The Warsaw Daily Times with a basket of fancy dahlias, which are on display in the lobby of The Times office. The blooms are exceptionally large, some of them being nearly 30 inches in circumference. With favorable weather conditions Rutter expects to have 65 varieties of fancy, large dahlias in bloom in the yard of his home within the next few weeks.
