    A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Monday for the new Arby's Restaurant on Ind. 15, on the north side of Warsaw. It is the second Arby's Restaurant in Warsaw.

August 23 1980

    Three Republicans - one of them Indiana Gov. Otis R. Bowen - were inducted into the Kosciusko County GOP Hall of Fame before a packed house at the Shrine Building in Warsaw.

Gov. Bowen handed plaques to GOP Hall of Fame inductees Frank L. Putt, Syracuse, and Hazel Marsh, Warsaw. Little did the governor know that Kosciusko County Republican Chairman Jean Northenor would soon present a plaque to him inducting him into the GOP Hall of Fame.

50 Years Ago

August 23 1955

    Reene Shue, of Winona Lake, who is president of the student executive council at Ball State Teachers College, Muncie, left for Minneapolis, Minn., to attend a three-day conference of student body presidents from colleges throughout the country.

Accompanying Miss Shue to Minneapolis were her mother, Mrs. Jay Shue, a younger sister, Mary, and Sue Winn, of Lucerne, who heads the student welfare commission at Ball State.

August 23 1930

    An apple tree on the farm of Frank Brenneman, three miles north of Leesburg, is in bloom for the second time this year. The same tree has already this year produced a few apples.
