    Tippecanoe Valley's School Board is back to full staff with the swearing in of Michael P. McFarland.

McFarland, 41, Rt. 2, Akron, fills the position vacated by Charles Smith from Franklin Township.

August 22 1975

    Snooky Four Sox, 7-year-old quarter horse, stood Grand Champion Gelding over 51 horses in the senior division Horse and Pony Show at the Indiana State Fair. The horse is owned and shown by Bret Miller, 15, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Miller, Rt. 1, Claypool. Bret is a four-year member of the Kosciusko County Horse and Pony Club.

August 22 1950

    The concrete floor has been poured for the new clear water storage tank being built at the Warsaw water works, it was stated today by a spokesman of the Northern Indiana Public Service Co. The floor area of the tank contains 30 square feet. Workmen have begun to construct the walls of the tank, which is to have a capacity of 100,000 gallons. The men are able to work in the pit, 10 feet below the level of the lake, because of the installation of a unique system of well points, which keep the area dry.

August 22 1925

    State police officers have received instructions from headquarters at Indianapolis to enforce the dimming law. Many motorists apparently do not know that there is such a law. They never dim. However, leniency is no longer to be shown.

Starting Wednesday the law is to be rigidly enforced in this section, as well as throughout the entire state.
