Pierceton's Tomato Festival named its 1989 Cutie King and Queen winners Friday.
In the 18-month to 3-year-old category, the winners were Justin Huffman, son of Jay and Jan Huffman, as Cutie King. Kayla Espinoza, daughter of Rubin and Mary Espinoza, was named Cutie Queen. In the 4-year-old to 6-year-old category, Jason Baker, son of Jerry and Theresa Baker, was named Cutie King. Misty Hathaway, daughter of Ray and Jane Hathaway, was named Cutie Queen.

Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Zentz, Etna Green, were among 35 farm couples who participated in an agricultural tour of Alaska. The trip was sponsored by Farm Wife News magazine.
The tour started in Seattle, Wash., with a luncheon atop the Space Needle, and continued northward with stops at several northwest Washington farms where the couple chatted with the farmers and compared crops and weather.

Harold Millington, Warsaw, swept first honors Sunday at Winona Lake in the Warsaw Outboard Motor Club's first races of the current season. The tiny outboards raced six laps over a staked-out quarter-mile distance.
Warsaw's second water speed demon, Floyd Yeager, participated in the thrill of the day when his boat turned over in the first heat on a turn.
75 Years Ago August 20 1924
Warsaw bakers have advanced the price of a pound-and-a-half of bread to 12 cents, an increase of 2 cents. The increased price went into effect this morning.
Some weeks ago bakers in other cities in this part of the state advanced the price of bread, due, they say, to the big increase in the price of flour.
