    Rozella Ford held its Junior Club Championship Aug. 14. Isaiah Knouff won the championship flight by beating Ben Barkey in a 36-hole stroke play. Aaron Turner won the Bantam Flight by beating April Turner in an 18-hole stroke play.


25 Years Ago

August 20 1980

    The Warsaw Library Summer Reading Program recently concluded, and the 321 youngsters who were involved read a total of 5,690 books. Pre-school youngsters in the program were: Andrew Mitchell, 280 books read; Andy Hoyt, 230 books; Karen and Nathan Ksiezopolski, 185 books read each; Jenny Sterk, 200 books; Eric Krieg and Jesse and Todd Skeans, 170 books each; and Jennie Ross, 135 books.


50 Years Ago

August 20 1955

    Eloise Rettinger, of Bourbon, with her pet chickens in a decorated doll cart, won first place in the 6- to 8-year division of the Marshall County Pet and Hobby parade. Eloise is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Don Rettinger, of Bourbon.


75 Years Ago

August 20 1930

    A.L. Rei, of North Manchester, has a transparent apple tree that has the seasons confused and is now in full bloom. The tree bore a few apples this summer and then when the rains came apparently was determined to raise another crop this year.
