    Two men in the Whitko school corporation have earned the chance to compete in the Boston Marathon in April 1993.

Mark Stock, Whitko's new assistant superintendent, and Scott Miller, corporation treasurer, both qualified May 23 for the 26-mile event at the Bay Shore Marathon in Traverse City, Mich.

    Reigning over the 61st Kosciusko County Fair are the 1977 4-H King and Queen - Jon Goon and Jane Anne Dickey. They were accorded the high honors last night during the annual 4-H fashion review in Warsaw Community High School Auditorium. Jane Ann, Silver Lake, and Jon, Warsaw, will present trophies and ribbons to their fellow 4-H'ers during the week-long fair festivities.

    Two Warsaw women golfers captured top honors in the 36-hole medal play tourney at the Tippecanoe Country Club.

Gloria Maish was the "A" flight winner with a score of 145, while Mary Ella Gerard won the "B" flight championship with a 142. The tourney was in progress two weeks.

August 2 1927

    A carrier pigeon, apparently tired from a long journey, or numbed by the sudden drop in temperature last night, sought shelter in the car of S.H. Mohn, of East Warsaw, whose car was parked at the railroad on Buffalo Street. Mohn found the pigeon, which was white with brown wings, and took it home where he kept it over night. Early this morning he informed The Times that he had released the pigeon and that it had flown directly south as far as he could see.
