    Tonya Fox Shaw recently received her master of business administration degree from the University of Miami.

Tonya is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert L. Fox, Warsaw.

    "It was wonderful," said Kosciusko County's Senior Citizen Queen, Mrs. Georgia Buster, after winning the Area II senior queen contest in Mishawaka.

Buster was selected queen of the five counties in Area II on the basis of her poise, personal appearance, interest and work in her community and her answer to a question posed by a panel of three judges.

August 2 1950

    "Wilson's All American," three-year-old sorrel stallion owned by Mr. and Mrs. John Cook, of East Fort Wayne Street, won first place in the Tennessee Walking horse class at the Milford horse show. He was awarded a trophy and prize money.

The previous week-end at LaSalle, Ill., the local horse took first in the open and stake classes against fields of 14 and 12 competitors.

    With the 1925 pumpkin season two months off "pumpkin" pies from the vegetables fresh from the garden are being served by Warsaw housewives. But the filler is composed largely of ground carrots, used in substitute for the pumpkin. There is little or no difference in taste. As a result of the discovery "pumpkin" pies have become popular in homes and in restaurants. Five cents worth of carrots make the filler for an exceptionally large "pumpkin" pie.
