    Local carpet layer Steve Mawer is a lucky, lucky man. Mawer, who said he doesn't play the lottery much, gave it a try last Saturday, and came up a triple winner. Mawer purchased six Black Jack instant tickets at Service Liquor store in Warsaw. Incredibly, he won three times on one ticket - three $50 winners.

    Well, the old home town is back to normal again. The 60th Kosciusko County Fair is over and Breading's Cigar Store has re-opened following a week's respite for proprietors Burleigh Burgh and Greg (Smitty) Smith.

It isn't true that Frances D. (Mousey) Leake left town last week after an alleged challenge to tangle with the county fair's champion woman wrestler was accepted by one of the ladies.

    Randy Zuck, son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Zuck, Winona Lake, and Dale Millington, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Millington, South Lake Street, were crowned champions of the second annual Koastin-Krates Derby, held before a large crowd which lined North Indiana Street hill from Main Street north past Fort Wayne Street.

    Zeb Hughes early today found a turtle 18 inches in circumference on the ledge of a window at a local bank. While Zeb admitted that the turtle probably had been placed there by some person a short time before, he declared that he had seen turtles fully as large descend from the clouds during a heavy rain.
