Deb Paton, 17, a senior at Warsaw Community High School, has spent the summer sharpening her skills as an equestrian. The daughter of George and Judy Paton, Leesburg, she has been riding and showing horses since she was 9 years old. Her horse, Bay Bonita, recently qualified for the Half-Arabian Legion of Honor at the Hoosier Horse Classics for Arabian and Half-Arabians, held in Indianapolis.

Dick Construction pounded out 25 hits and had an eight-run fifth inning and a six-run seventh to romp over Discount Auto 21-3 for the Lakeland Slow Pitch tourney title at Grace College.

County 4-H club home economics girls who will compete for honors at the state fair were named by Mrs. Glenn Snellengerger, the home demonstration agent.
Martha Drudge, of Beaver Dam, will represent the county in the state 4-H dress revue, which will be staged in the Coliseum on Sept. 2, state 4-H day. Barbara Thompson, Warsaw, who took second place in district competition, will compete in the state clothing judging contest on Sept.1.

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bright, of North Lake Street, entertained at a dinner party in honor of their little grandson, Bobby Bright, who celebrated his fifth birthday on Aug. 14. A huge birthday cake lighted with candles centered the table.
