Mr. and Mrs. Bob Kesler, Warsaw, recently attended a reunion of the First Marine Division and Guadalcanal invasion anniversary. Kesler was a member of the Marine invasion force during World War II, which is credited with changing the course of the Pacific conflict.
Winning pitcher Ron Thompson knocked four hits, while John Hanna, Pat Ireland and Steve Watkins smashed home runs to pace Warsaw Sporting Goods to a 21-4 slow pitch softball victory over United Telephone Monday. Mark Hanna, Johnn Hanna, Bill Wiley and Larry Bishop chipped in three hits each for the winners.
Mrs. A. M. Tully, of Sawmill Lake, was recently notified that she was among the winners in two national contest. She named 12 old cars correctly in one contest and wrote a statement regarding soap in another.
A party of Warsaw women motored to Epworth Forest, Webster Lake, Thursday morning and attended the Epworth League institute. They dined at the Yellow Banks Hotel and from there went to Pierceton, where they called on friends. Those in the party were Mrs. Robert Breading, Mrs. Dayton Paxton, Mrs. Allie K. Hayden, Maude Hanna and Mrs. Melvin Barr.
