Stonehenge Country Club pro Dave Schumaker and his son, Jeff, teamed up to win the IGA-PGA Father-Son Championship at Morris Park Country Club in South Bend. Dave Schumaker fired a 77, while Jeff carded a 69 as the pair ended with a six-over-par 146.

    Two members of the Kosciusko County Republican Women's Club will travel to Dallas, Texas, for the National Federation of Republican Women's Biennial Convention, according to Mrs. Boyce (Helen) Howard, president of the Kosciusko County GOP Club.

"Miss Pauline Jordan, delegate, and Mrs. Nellie Garman, alternate, will be among an estimated 60 to 100 Hoosier women at the three-day convention," Mrs. Howard said.

    Burleigh Burgh, son of Mr. and Mrs. Pete Burgh, North Union Street, received an unusual graduation present. It is a novelty combination walking stick and billiard cue, which was made in Japan. It was sent to him by his cousin, Rex Johnson, who lives with his family near Tokyo. Burleigh graduated in June from Warsaw High School.

    A three-tank Ford fire truck chemical fire fighting equipment costing $2,200 was purchased by the North Webster community for the protection of their town. The Obenchain-Boyer Co., of Logansport, made the sale.
