    What began as a casual, long-distance friendship has blossomed into a universal experience between a Warsaw family and a family from Holland. Ben Korterink and his wife, Joke (pronounced yoka) and two children Leinke, 14, and Minette, 11, came from their European home for a two-week stay with the family of Mr. and Mrs. Willis Alt, Melody Acres, Warsaw.

    Connie Hoopingarner, Syracuse, and Thames Goon, Atwood, were crowned 4-H King and Queen during the dress revue which opened the 57th annual Kosciusko County Fair.

August 14 1948

    Dr. and Mrs. F.C. Tucker, Claypool, left Monday morning for San Francisco, Calif., where Dr. Tucker will attend the American Veterinary Medical Association Convention. En route, they will visit their son, Dr. Carl C. Tucker, and family at Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and will also visit their other son, Dr. Marshall B. Tucker, Oakland, Calif. They plan to be gone about three weeks.

August 14 1923

    Three racing pigeons owned by Milton Burden of this city made a flight from Troy, Ohio, Monday forenoon in five hours. The distance is 155 miles. On Sunday Mr. Burden shipped three pigeons to Troy and they were released Monday morning at 6 o'clock. They were back on their roosts in Warsaw at 11 o'clock.
