Tim Hawley of Warsaw recently fired a hole-in-one on the 110-yard, No. 2 hole at the Big Boulder Golf Course in Milford. Hawley's golfing partners and witnesses for the ace included his father, Robert, his brother, Jeff, and his daughter, Janell. Hawley used a nine-iron to record his hole-in-one.
Donald E. Creakbaum was recently honored for 30 years of service by Kroger management. Creakbaum has been employed by Kroger's in Warsaw since Aug. 25, 1947, and now is head dairy clerk.
A 96-year-old retired Akron business man, A.A. Gast, this week enjoyed his first plane trip. Mr. Gast, father of A.E. (Chub) Gast, Warsaw, took to the air one month in advance of his 97th birthday, and he said the experience was delightful.
The vocational agriculture department of the Warsaw High School will send a livestock judging team to the state fair to represent the school and the county. The banks of the city have given $30 to pay expenses of the trip. The judging team will consist of Earl Boggs, Donald Pittenger and Robert P. Smith.
