Perhaps few of our local students of astronomy took advantage of the meteoric display in the heavens last night - or, more properly speaking, very early this morning.

One reader of The Times did, however, and she stated she witnesses a beautiful shower of meteors or what some of us term "falling stars." From Perseus, in the northwest skies, the meteoric shower fell toward the west and southwest in all its splendor, each leaving a blazing trail in its wake. Florence McCarter states she observed the scheduled meteoric shower from midnight until 3 a.m., counting 83 meteors, which made a beautiful sight as they fell to Mother Earth.
