    Christopher Bolinger and April Yocum, both of Pierceton, were recently crowned Cutie King and Queen at the Annual PIerceton Days celebration. Bolinger is the son of Jeff and Mary bolinger and Yocum is the daughter of Todd and Marsha Yocum.

August 11 1981

    Susan Kreger, the 17-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Kreger, Pierceton, was crowned the 1981 Kosciusko County Fair Queen by last year's queen, Kimberly Lotz, during ceremonies at the Shrine Building.


50 Years Ago

August 11 1956

    Sandra Brubaker, of Warsaw, before a large crowd Monday night at the fairgrounds amphitheater, was named winner of the 1956 4-H Dress Revue.

Sandra will represent Kosciusko County in the State Fair Dress Revue at Indianapolis. Judy Stouffer, of Pierceton, placed second; Wilburta Latimer, of Beaver Dam, third.

75 Years Ago

August 11 1931

    Lieutenant Harold Barnes, pilot of the Waco passenger plane located at Wawasee Lake, had as his many passengers Sunday "Grandma" Holderman, 82-year-old woman of Wawasee. Barnes states that this should be an enducement for the more timid air-minded people to become a ware of the fact that the air isn't so dangerous. Barnes has also had the experience of taking a 102-year-old woman as his passenger.
