North Manchester optometrist Steven L. Seward recently received the American Optometric Association's 1990 Continuing Optometric Recognition Award.
The award is given to optometrists who have completed exemplary continuing education in their fields and who have already received the Initial Optometric Recognition Award.

Ken Carlin, a 1975 graduate of Whitko High School, has been selected as a Prep Track and Field Athlete of the Year, editors of Coach & Athlete magazine announced today.
The athletic achievements of each athlete nominated will be featured in the 1975 edition of the "Prep Track and Field 'Athletes of the Year'" to be published in September.

Sanville, associated for the past 40 years with the Rodeheaver company, of which he is the present manager, will be given public recognition for 50 years of outstanding service in the realm of gospel song book compilation.
Sanville is recognized as one of the leading authorities in the field of copywriting of music composition.

A fourth golf course is to be added to the list of attractions at the summer resorts of Kosciusko County.
Jack Maternes, of Chicago and Leesburg, has purchased the Mrs. John Pound farm of 119 acres on the northwest banks of Big Chapman Lake and is already laying out a beautiful nine-hole golf course. Last week two tractors were busy building roads and pulling a hill in to fill up a low place near the lake's edge there.
