Archie Holle, veteran Warsaw race driver, won the feature 50-lap mid-season championship stock car race Saturday night before a large crowd at the Warsaw Speedway.
Holle, by winning, now leads in the point standings among drivers who compete at the speedway each Saturday night.

Two men appeared at the Pat Maguire residence, on East Market Street, with a goat, wagon and harness. They asked permission to leave the goat, saying they would return for it. The men took the harness but left the goat and wagon. Now Pat has the goat and don't know what to do with it.
Police are investigating to ascertain if the tin-can-eating animal was stolen. August 2 10 Years Ago Warsaw's Adam Booher recently was named an AAU National Champion in the Junior 132 division in Tulsa, Okla. Booher finished the year with a record of 49-3. 25 Years Ago Coronation ceremonies were held in the Warsaw Community High School auditorium Monday as Kosciusko County's 1980 4-H King and Queen - Andy Kuhn and Cindy Tucker - were crowned before a capacity crowd. Tucker, who's brother, Dennis, was crowned the 4-H King last year, is the 16-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Larry (Roberta) Tucker, Warsaw, and Kuhn is the 18-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald (Jane) Kuhn, Etna Green. 50 Years Ago Nancy Anderson, 16, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Anderson, is the Warsaw High School junior class candidate for the Kosciusko County Fair Queen contest being sponsored by Alpha Beta chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She is 5 feet, 5 inches tall, is a blue-eyed blonde and weighs 125 pounds. 75 Years Ago A large pike, 37 inches long and weighing 8 pounds, was caught out of Pike Lake by Ezra Graham. He also caught another pike, which was 16 inches in length.
