    Warsaw Community Schools announced the hiring of a new assistant superintendent for the corporation Friday afternoon.

Dr. Anthony D. Etienne, formerly of Kingsport, Tenn., will begin his duties with the school corporation in August.

    Naomi Walter has been recognized for significant achievement for her part in helping to sell 22 million copies of "The Living Bible." She is a buyer at Light and Life Press, Winona Lake, and was presented the award recently at Kansas City at the National Convention of the Christian Bookseller's Association.

    SOUTH WHITLEY - Suzanne LeBrun, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Don LeBrun, South Whitley, is one 308 first year students at Indiana University, Bloomington, who qualified for the second semester honor roll. She has been awarded a state scholarship to Indiana University for the 1952-53 school year beginning in September.

    Playing one of the best games of ball played by a Warsaw team for some years, the locals defeated the fast Elkhart specials, consisting of former Conn players, Sunday afternoon by a 2 to 0 score. Old Noah Eaton pitching one of the best games of his career, was backed up by some spectacular fielding.
