    Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department added a new patrolman recently to increase their number to 17 officers. Joe R. Mooney, 27, of Warsaw, joined the department as a full-time officer.

    In its first year here, Neighborhood Youth Corps has placed 20 Warsaw youths on six job sites, all nonprofit government agencies, from July 3 to Aug. 25. Not only are they earning a good wage for their 26-hour work week, but they are also learning useful vocational skills.

    Winona Lake youths evidently have solved the hot weather problem. The other day we saw the Winona Fire Department using the fire truck hose to cool off the younger set.

    The American Telephone and Telegraph Company announces that every one of its 13 million telephones in the United States and Canada would cease service for one minute at 6:25 p.m. today when the body of Alexander Graham Bell will be lowered into the grave in Nova Scotia.
