After a winter sports season filled with many high points and outstanding achievements, Warsaw Community High School saluted its student athletes during the annual Winter Sports Awards program in the Tiger Den.
Raggedy Ann and Andy came to life for a day courtesy of the Lake Theatre. In conjunction with the movie of the same name, Ann and Andy visited the downtown area of Warsaw and passed out coloring books and autographed mini posters. Andy is really Andy Horn, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wagner, Burket, and Ann in real life is Vonnie Cook, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Cook, Warsaw.
Bobby Smith, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Smith, of the Harrison Center community near Crystal Lake west of Warsaw, has a new way of entertaining company. He calls Bubbles, the family's pet pig, out of the hog lot and rides her around the yard. Bubbles is as good as a pony, and the tumbles the young "pigestrian" takes are not nearly so far - although more frequent. The Smiths said: "If you want a good laugh, drive out to our place and watch the show. Bubbles likes to pose for the camera, also."
The burglar alarm of the State Bank of Warsaw was sounded at 3:15 this afternoon.
