Warsaw Community High School's 1987 prom was led by the king and queen, David Ransbottom, Claypool, and Michelle Haines, Warsaw.
Two records fell in Land-O-Lakes competition. In the seventh grade, Warsaw's Ron Blue vaulted 10-6, breaking the old mark of 9-9 set by Rochester's King in 1971. Wawasee freshman Brian Lemberg came up with a 46-4 effort in the shot, bettering Sashore of Manchester's mark of 45-7 set in 1965.
A genuine Hawaiian lei from a Honolulu flower shop reached Mrs. George Auer, Rt. 1, Milford by air mail, special delivery as a Mother's Day gift from son George Auer Jr., who is stationed in the islands with the armed forces. The flowers on the lei were fresh as though they had just been picked.
