    Nappanee artist Deb Boyer will display her watercolors at the Lakeland Art Center during the month of April. Boyer attended Ball State University and Ivy Tech.

    HANOVER - Leah Hartman of Pierceton, is one of 40 recent initiates into Alpha Lambda Delta/Phi Esta Sigma national scholastic honoraries at Hanover College.

Hartman is a graduate of Whitko High School and is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Hartman, Pierceton.

    Alice Ann Steele, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Steele, South High Street, will assist in the Lee Grabel mystery show to be presented at the high school auditorium under sponsorship of the Warsaw Lions Club.

Steele, a high school junior, will participate in the feature illusion in which the audience sees a piano and pianist float about the stage and turn a complete somersault in the air without any visible means of support.

    As a result of an eight-week contest between the sales organization of Chinworth & Oram, local Maytag dealers, and Wickenhiser & Geedy, Maytag agency of Huntington, a chicken-beans dinner was served at Hicks' Tavern, South Whitley.

The Warsaw organization came out victorious in the contest and enjoyably partook of the chicken, while their opponents, the Huntington gang, ate beans.
