    Cub Scout Pack 3715 of Jefferson School PTO held its annual pack Pinewood Derby recently at Winona Lake Presbyterian Church. Den winners were Nik Delp, runner-up pack championship; Zachary Woodward, Webelos and pack champion; Sean Smith, Bears champion; and B.J. Woodward, Wolves champion.


25 Years Ago

April 8 1980

    Glen Ransbottom, a senior at Warsaw Community High School, became the youngest person to ever roll a perfect game at Gilliam Lanes. The 300 was the last of three games for the bowler carrying a 162 average, and it followed games of 172 and 188.


50 Years Ago

April 8 1955

    An Atlantic City newspaper carried a picture of Elmer E. Hawley, of Warsaw, recently when he gave an illustrated lecture of his travels in Europe aboard the aircraft carrier Valley Forge. Hawley is aviation electronics technician chief, of Composite Squadron 4, at the Atlantic City naval air station.


75 Years Ago

April 8 1930

    The Kosciusko County Rifle and Pistol Club made a fine record at the shoot held in Culver.

Ora Stamper made a record shot when, with a 45 calibre pistol, he made a 100 out of a possible 100 in an individual shoot. The prize is a gold medal. The Kosciusko team made 434 points out of a possible 500 against 12 teams. Those shooting from Warsaw were George Mowery, Glen Harman, Ora Stamper, Frank Cauffman and Fred Strauss.
