    Marvin Miller recently joined Wes Miller Insurance to manage the farm, home, business and auto division.

Wes Miller Insurance has been a local broker since 1960.

    MSgt. Card D. Dawalt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Murl A. Dawalt, Rt. 1, Etna Green, has graduated from the Military Airlift Command Noncommissioned Officer Academy at Norton AFB, Calif.

Sgt. Dewalt, who received advanced military leadership and management training, is an aircraft maintenance technician at Scott AFB, Ill. The sergeant is a 1953 graduate of Etna Green High School.

April 8 1950

    Etna Green was reported in an uproar over the week-end after an April Fool single-sheet mimeographed newspaper was sent to most townspeople. The sheet was named "The Etna Booster," and carried a slogan line, "News, views and rumors published by the Etna Boosters' club." It stated that preparations were being rushed for the formal opening of the city hall, that a new elevator was being planned for the auto salesroom (which is a one-room structure), and that "at long last we are going to have a swimming pool."

    A postcard mailed to the editor from the trans-Atlantic steamer Conte Verde by Bram Baker, states he and Mrs. Baker are on their way to Italy to return early in the summer.
