John Hanna, customer service/network maintenance supervisor for Sprint/United Telephone, and David R. Owens, area building maintenance supervisor for Sprint/UTS, will celebrate 20 years of area service to the company.
Ruth Smith and Allee Gerard, both of Warsaw, have received certificates of appreciation for their membership of 50 years in the Daughters of the American Revolution. The certificates marking their loyalty and dedication to home and country were presented by Joan Kindle, regent of the Agnes Pryun Chapman Chapter of the DAR.
James Bates, of Bourbon, was elected treasurer of the Future Farmers of American by a vote of about 600 youths at the closing session of their silver anniversary convention at Purdue University.
The oratorical contest at Sidney was won by Durwood Hathaway, who will represent that high school at the county contest in Pierceton Friday.
