WABASH - For 10 years Don Showalter has driven one of those light but popular-priced cars.
Yesterday (April 17) was his 70th birthday and he drove the car downtown and parked it as usual. An hour or two later when he went to get the car it was a total wreck. The windshield was broken, the top caved in, the fenders torn off and all four wheels smashed. For a time Showalter had visions of damage suits if he could find the vandals. A few minutes later the visions were gone when a new car of the same model came up and out stepped his three sons. They had destroyed the old car and gave him the new one for a birthday present.
