Cynthia Nash of Atwood School was recently awarded a $250 Lifetouch Enrichment Grant by Lifetouch National School Studios of Minneapolis, Minn. More than 3,000 educators from across the country submitted ideas for involving families in the education process. Nash and 239 other educators were selected to receive grants by a panel of independent education specialists.
The Warsaw Optimist and Jr. Optimist Clubs sponsored Warsaw's first Superkid Sporting event for the benefit of the American Lung Association of North Central Indiana. Winners were Marty Robbins, Adam Urley, Tecey Skaggs, Pam Barnett, Howie Snyder, Walter Estep, David Susabara, Tim Ross, Mike Henn and Kelly Hathaway.
Sixteen members of the Warsaw Business and Professional Women's Club attended the intercity dinner meeting held at the Elkhart YWCA.
Dale Bauer, Warsaw, won first place in the 13th District Constitutional Oratorical contest held at the high school in Mishawaka. His subject was "The Citizen, His Duties and Responsibilities Under the Constitution."
