Jenny Ousley, daughter of Willard and Paula Ousley, Warsaw, has been selected as a 1990 state finalist in the Miss Indiana American Pre-Teen Pageant to be staged May 4 and 5 in the Adams Mark Hotel, Indianapolis.
Eight Whitko High School senior girls recently placed with honors in competition with 900 other students in a state-wide contest of the Office Education Association. The meeting was held in Indianapolis. Students are Joie Dierks, Cindy Vardaman, Jackie Rhodes, Connie Starkey, Sue Verba, Janet Werstler, Diane Metzger and Deb Metzger. Connie Starkey and Jackie Rhodes will go on to the national meet of OEA at Chicago.
Nine Warsaw and Winona Lake Methodist women were among the 500 who attended the conference in the First Methodist Church, Mishawaka. Mrs. J.W. Frost, Mrs. Royal Pottenger, Mrs. Roy Bradway, Mrs. Ben Eagler, Mrs. J.N. Rodeheaver, Fanny Sharp, Mrs. Charles A. Butler, Margaret Wertz and Miriam Kutz were the local WSCS members at the conference.
Walter "Pete" Hall, former North Webster and Pierceton young man, is leading Indiana University base ball club in hitting. On their southern trip just ended, Pete batted 529, 13 hits out of 25 times at bat. He plays shortstop and is former Warsaw Special star and captain.
