    SOUTH WHITLEY - The guidance department of Whitko High School has announced the valedictorian and salutatorian for the class of 1994.

Ingrid M. Goble, the daughter of Marvin and Jane Goble of South Whitley, is the valedictorian, and Whitko's salutatorian is Matthew A. McKeighen, the son of Robert and Julie McKeighen of Pierceton.

    The rank of Eagle Scout has been earned by Warsaw Community High School senior Scott Nicholls. He received the award from local scout leader Freeland "Flip" Phillips. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Nicholls, Warsaw, is a member of Scout Troop 730 and has been in scouting 10 years.

    Joel Haney, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Haney, of Winona Lake, and Anita Garman, daughter of Nellie Garman, of Claypool, are members of the Manchester College a cappella choir, which began its annual Holy Week concert tour.

Professor Clyde Holsinger, chairman of the music department and director of the choir, announced that the tour covers approximately 1,200 miles.

    John Mathews, Mentone's basketball star, president of the junior class, has received a medal from his school for making the largest percentages of foul shots for the past season. His brother, George, another noteworthy performer, will be graduated this coming Friday.
