    BOURBON - Triton Elementary School student Adam Heckaman recently won a $50 savings bond for his essay, "What DARE Means to Me."

He is the son of Marty and Denise Heckaman, Etna Green.

    Lewis Luckenbill, president of the Noon Kiwanis Club, presented trophies to the first three place women winners in the recent Bowl-Down Cancer tourney at Gilliam Lanes. They are Janice Busz, first; Ellaree Everly, second; and Elaine Silveus, third. The top three men are presented their trophies by Win Morrison, chairman of the service project. They are Donnie Helser, first; Scottie Ervin, second; and Fred Homburg, third.

    Jean Howard, Warsaw, and Keith Lancaster, South Whitley, a roller skating team from this area, recently earned their junior bar for participating in roller skating events. They belong to the Rock Lake Rocketts roller skating club.

April 24 1927

    Helen Kyle was hostess to the members of the Wego Bridge Club. Celia Douglass won first prize and Leone Boley second. The hostess served a delicious luncheon. Mrs. Joe Erlinger will be hostess to the club members two weeks later at which time a pot luck supper will be enjoyed.
