    Groundbreaking for the new poultry-rabbit barn at the Kosciusko County Fairgrounds took place on April 16. The building should be completed in time for the 1994 County 4-H and Community Fair.

    Robert Fawley, Warsaw, is among 17 Purdue University students who have been inducted into Tau Alpha Pi, national engineering technology society. Fawley, in the electrical engineering technology department at Purdue, received a certificate, society key and plaque to commemorate the achievement.

April 23 1954

    John Hoover, of Syracuse, was individual high scorer with 445 points at the county 4-H livestock judging contest held at the county fairgrounds.

Other scoring was as follows: Paul Beezley, Syracuse, 424, second; Walter Brazel, Syracuse, 422, third; Art Troyer, Syracuse, 413, fourth; Ernest Heighway, Beaver Dam, 412, fifth; and Stanley Ummel, Beaver Dam, 407, sixth.

    NORTH MANCHESTER - Edith Popham, of Claypool, has been chosen as maid of honor to the May queen of Manchester College. Popham is a popular co-ed of the school, a junior, and during her three years at Manchester has been actively associated with various college activities.

A record crowd of visitors to witness the day's events, which will include coronation exercises of this year's queen, Ruby Deardorff, of North Manchester, athletic events and the senior play, is anticipated.
