Lakeview Middle School finished 11th in the state in the recent Indiana Mathematics League Contest. Lakeview was the top school in an eight-county region, with Stephanie Campbell the top student in the region and 15th in the state. Other team members are David Grossnickle, Kyle Smith, Taylor Bean and Tracy Hollar.
Laura Chambers, of 211 W. Fort Wayne St., Warsaw, was hoping for 90 birthday cards on her 90th birthday a few weeks back. However, her expectations were exceeded when friends showered her with more than 150 cards.

Awards of athletic sweaters and letters for members of the Warsaw High School basketball teams were made this morning with appropriate ceremonies at the school: Basketball boys - Frederick Hilledgas, Chester Bolinger, Lynn Pierce and Thomas Braddock, received sweaters, and Jack Ferguson and Daniel Perry, letters; Basketball girls - Alice Woodling and Alpha Faris, sweaters, and Bea David, Marjorie Bolinger, Anel Ristow, Helen Hankins, Jean Widaman, Ruth Harmon and Charlotte Ferguson, letters.
